“My life was narrated for me by others. Their voices were forceful, emphatic, absolute. It had never occurred to me that my voice might be as strong as theirs.” - Tara Westover, Educated

The trauma of leaving a high-control group, community, or individual is unique. Often, we find ourselves falling to a million pieces, and having to somehow put them back together. I have helped many people explore these different pieces, reflect, sort, and rebuild.

Religious abuse, cults, high-control groups, high-demand environments, and narcissistic individuals cause a unique pain that only those who truly understand can relate to. I get it because I have had to put my own million pieces back together, and have found a niche helping others through this process, and helping them learn to embrace life on their own terms. I also work with many families and family members impacted by the ripple effects of a loved one’s group membership.

I do not list the specific groups I have worked with, as we all define “high control group” differently. However, I am happy to discuss your individual circumstances with you.

Please note: I am not anti-religion. I fully support and encourage people to find community and spirituality in whatever way works for them. I work with individuals for whom their community is not working for them. I am also not a cult interventionist. I will only work with individuals who are seeing me with their full knowledge and consent. Please do not use appointments with me to sneak a loved one into a staged intervention.
